Church Anniversary Poems

Christian Poems for Your Church

There are few church anniversary poems specifically written for that special day. However, I did find a few that could do well. You can put these in bulletins or programs or whatever you are using to celebrate your church's anniversary.

Love Remains

Happiness grows as each year passes
And trials test the love that will grow.

Pleasures of the heart remain a treasure,
Perhaps a memory of some time ago.

Yesterday's joys are your heart's treasure
And love remains to guard the store.

Now and then we are reminded,
It is love (the key) that unlocks the door.

Vivid are the scenes of days gone by,
Each thought, a page from the past,

Reminding us that God guides our path and
Yielding to His will, our love will last.

The Spirit Filled Church

This church anniversary poem was written and dedicated to Grace Bible Church of Elkhart, Indiana.

Today I walked in the church doors to find
That, many would be there to welcome Him.
Every face had a smile and a look of hope,
Spreading joy, I saw Jesus in each of them.

Perhaps, if you look, you will see the change.
It is a precious sight, different in many ways;
Righteousness flows from the member's hearts,
And resounds with glorious songs of praise.

Today is a day that our Lord has made.
From the beginning of time he created love.
It is with this love that His Son was sent,
Crucified, buried, risen and ascended above.

Love that is spread in the Spirit filled church,
Emitting a glow that brings us a joyful heart,
Brings us from the cares of this world of woe
And fills us with joy, complete from the start.

The Spirit filled church is the Lord's church
And is always faithful to do the Lord's will.
They heed the calling to a lost and dying world
And spread God's word over mountain and hill.

Sent Out

This poem talks about the mission of the church. It may fit as a church anniversary poem if you put an introduction before the poem.

As God has a plan for every soul
And some he sends out to another shore
He gives them knowledge, wisdom and power
As all of His strength goes on before.

You may wonder, why me Lord,
As you seek in His word, His will and His way.
As you have answered His call to serve,
He'll guide your path from day to day.

Some are called to prophesy and
Sore are called to fervently pray.
Some are called to be the light to our path
But all are called to be servants each day.

Wherever God calls us to be His tool,
Wherever He sends us to tell of His love,
Let us pause to remember how His Word
Brings us power and wisdom from above.

Silver Memories Lined with Gold

This poem is a pastor appreciation poem that celebrates another year of ministry.

When you came to us, we were unsure.
With all of our needs, would you endure?
There has to be times you wanted to quit,
But the Lord said no, stick around a bit.

That bit of time, well it came and it went.
Because we needed a pastor, you were sent.
We have been through good times and bad
But you stuck around and that made us glad.

We share (25) years of wonderful memories here
And all of them in our hearts, we hold dear.
You have been our pastor, our guide, and friend.
Your wisdom is so helpful as on God you depend.

It has been(25) years of good times and bad,
Most of them were happy, but some were sad.
Some of us have gone on to be with the Lord
But we are still here with rivers to ford.

We will have trials and storms to go through,
But you have been there and shown us what to do.
Our prayers each day include you as we pray
And we must give thanks for you each day.

Now, may the Lord be with you all of your days
And continue to use you as you give Him praise.
We love and appreciate you for all you have done
As we look back in wonder, where have the years gone?

Thank You

For all the times you walked with me
And gently held my hand,
The times you stopped to answer why,
To help me learn and understand.
Each time I fall or stumble, you
Reach out to me and lift me up to stand.
You are there in good times,
Even though I forget to thank you.
You are there in the bad times,
To pick me up and see me through.
Thank you, my church, for being there
To make each day brand new.
